Cavity Trays | Base
and Wall Construction
Base and Wall Construction
Scott James Commercials reputation as one of the south east's
foremost manufacturers and installers of conservatories is
built on its product quality, workmanship, service and attention
to detail.
This is particularly important when it comes to the building
work that will go into your conservatory. Due to the high
specification and tight tolerances which we work to, we have
our own building teams that carry out the work.
 |
The foundations which
we dig will be a minimum of 600 mm deep and 500 mm wide.
Quite frequently, we go a lot deeper than this due to
the individual site requirements. |
 |
Concrete poured into the trench until
it is 150 mm below ground level. This will be left to
set prior to the cavity wall being erected. |
 |
Cavity walls are then erected, including
the all important damp proof course, to the agreed
height. |
|
 |
Inside the perimeter goes hardcore
topped off with sharp sand to make a cushion for the damp
proof membrane. |
 |
Damp proof membrane
is laid, followed by 50 mm of dense polystyrene for insulation. |
 |
On top of the polystyrene goes 100
mm of concrete. |
 |
Once the conservatory
is erected, we then lay a 50 - 70 mm sand and cement screed
floor. Just prior to this, if specified, we will carry
out any plastering. |
 |
Finished Conservatory that will stand
the test of time. |
